JCT: Please Noreen, stop sending to this address. The
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/MedPot-discuss group is
fine.
NE: He won't know.
JCT: He's their witness to the facts and whatever he doesn't
know, he can commit to find out. I've just given him a
headstart. Their only out is to say it's not relevant how
they got it, illegally or not. We'll see if an illegal
seizure has much impact.
NE: Perhaps the parcel was opened unintentionally - maybe a
corner ripped. Someone saw or smelled the pot, and believing
it to be an unlawful substance, called the police. Noreen

MP: Hi John and Terry :); For security reasons and also
because of our drug laws, I believe that Canada Post is
allowed to use drug and bomb sniffing dogs and also
equivalent detection electronic equipment.
JCT: So Canada Post has sniffing powers. But who sent them
sniffing after Parker? But we'd better pass it along to
Canada's legal herb traffickers if they want to keep their
never-re-prohibited-by-Parliament medicine.
MP: It's also possible that Terry's pot parcel wasn't well
sealed and that a postal worker smelled it - and reported it
to his superior.
JCT: Shouldn't we be allowed to know if it's accidental or
deliberate sniffing?
MP: I also agree with you when you say that we should use
private companies instead of Canada Post - but as long it's
a company that doesn't stop to different cities in U.S.
before getting to destination somewhere else in Canada.
As an example, for marijuana, UPS should not be used for
long distances in Canada because it could go through
different US points before it reaches a Canadian
destination. Marc
JCT: Should be quite easy to verify a private carrier isn't
going via the US. Besides, our never-re-prohibited-by-
Parliament medicine is still prohibited in the US.

Exactly what type of horror stories do you need? I asked my
GP to sign my MMAR application. The old one before the
waiver form. He refused and cited the CMPA's advice. Then he
started talking about taking my driver's licence away. (the
ironic/hypocritical thing about that is he is part owner of
a local fancy wine and cheese restaurant. I can see him now
sitting in the emergency room waiting for a drunk to mangle
himself and a couple innocents to come in and require a
lifetime of medical treatment.) He talked about drug
addiction without explicitly calling me a drug addict.
He told me that drs in this area (small town rural)are not
signing the forms. Maybe in the big city they are but not
around here.
He had been my dr for nearly 10 years up to that point and
whenever I asked him to sign or fill out some welfare
paperwork he did not charge me. Ever since my MMAR request
he has been charging me for simple routine paper work. I
don't know if he's singled me out or if this is a change in
the office policy and applies to everyone.
I live in a small town and the drs around here are not
taking new patients. I heard somewhere that Health Canada
will not accept a person's GP that is too far away from
home. I don't know if this official and how far is too far.
It may be that it is not official policy but official
stonewalling in an effort to make the MMAR as difficult as
possible.
Is this the kind of thing you're looking for? What else do
you need?
JCT: Yes, it is. I'd prefer someone who has been refused by
all the judges in his town rather than just being told but
one refusal and a disheartening warning should help Terry
explain why he isn't going to bother jumping through the
doctor-shopping hoop and can wait until they satisfy his
doctor rather than accept he should should switch doctors
after a possibly lengthy and costly search among "reportedly
recalcitrant doctors."
So if anyone has been refused by two or three times in their
doctor search, that would be even better. But your horror
story helps Terry too. Thanks.
