Dear Sheila:
In my televised Cable 14 debate to be broadcast several
times over the next week, I mentioned that though I keep
hearing that your political career is finished, it doesn't
have to be so. You were quoted in the Hamilton Spectator
saying: "Things happen for a reason."
As I told you in our 1996 byelection, my dad was a life-long
Liberal supporter in Hamilton East (Holy Family Church). As
Holy Family Boy Scout and Girl Guide, we were together at
Tiger Cat Stadium even if it was only for the Pope's parade
and not a football game.
I remember first meeting you back in one of the early 1980s
byelections in Hamilton West when I was picketing outside
the church that hosting the "not-all-candidates" debate. You
prevailed upon the moderator to let me participate. I never
got to say thanks.
Your gracious victory speech in 1996 inviting me up on stage
to join you on national TV and mentioning my pet LETS
program cinched you as a wonderful lady in my books.
As you consider what you want to do to stay in the political
game, I can bet you really don't want to jump to another
Parliamentary Party like the NDP. That would be badly viewed
as a "sore loser" move by many of your supporters.
Much more legitimate and spectacular would be founding your
own party. That's no loser move because you get to debate
Paul Martin before the Canadian people, not before his
bought party convention.
In 1993, I founded my Abolitionist Party of Canada fielding
80 pro-"LETS interest-free timebanking software" candidates
in only 3 weeks of phone calls. I have no doubt that someone
with your national prestige and connections could easily use
today's Internet to found your own party in only months,
even weeks. With my help, even faster.
Of course, not liking Paul Martin isn't enough. There are
other parties you can join who are already doing that. You
can't found a new party on a negative. You need something
spectacularly positive to like.
LETS is liked in Canada's Green Party, Marxist-Leninist,
Natural Law, Christian Heritage, Freedom, Libertarian
parties even an NDPer or two; Liberal and Tory parties
overseas. The Bloc Quebecois need to unite with a national
movement before they get wiped out and I've also heard that
some other libertarians might be amenable to joining behind
you. Many many would far prefer uniting behind you than
behind "radical" Turmel.
Nevertheless, I am going to try to field a party's worth of
candidates at this federal election based on my standard
four demands for
A) interest-free time-banking,
B) no gambling, sex, drug prohibitions.
If you can agree to give me an interest-free bank account
and keep cops out of my card games, medicine cabinet, and
bedroom, I can work with you. And I would be pleased to join
any party you would care to lead as long as you can live
with my four minimum programs required including support for
my global UNILETS Resolution C6 to Governments in the United
Nations Millennium Declaration.
So you're not out of the political game if you don't want to
be. You even have some public exposure left in which to
announce the founding of your own party. It may not have
been one of the options under consideration yet but when you
consider how the Internet has changed everything, it should
be.
Sheila, if you really want to shake up the Canadian
political establishment in your last days in office,
announce you're going to found your own party. And if you
really want to scare them, just mention that you're teaming
up with John "The UNILETS Engineer" "Medpot Engineer" "Poker
Systems Engineer" Turmel and that should do it.
I did 80 candidates in 3 weeks by telephone. Don't doubt
that we couldn't cover the whole field with our national
connections. After all, it costs nothing anymore to run
since candidates get their full deposits back. I'm sure
you'll be amazed how easily it will be to field a brand new
300-person team, especially if there are sound programs to
offer in the public Internet arena. Financial freedom and
personal freedoms are those programs.
With your connections alone, I'm sure I could do it. Maybe
even with my connections alone, I will do it. But with both
our connections, founding a party would be a cinch and your
best bet at getting back into Parliament right away.
And you'd get your debate with Paul Martin before the
Canadian people armed with the best computer programs that
Turmel systems engineering can provide you with.
As I've now moved across the street from the Brantford
Charity Poker Casino so getting to the Hamilton is a whole
lot easier than from Ottawa. I would appreciate the
opportunity to discuss collaboration in bringing many small
parties together on my four great freedoms or more.
