Rory tried to send out an announcement about the 3rd International Arts and
Healing Conference on November 9,10 & 11 this year in Boca Raton at Florida
Atlantic University.
Here are the details for anyone interested. The deadline for abstracts is
mid-October.

THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL ARTS IN HEALING CONFERENCE
November 9, 10 & 11, 2006
Initaive for Intentional Health, Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, Florida
Atlantic University
Iota Xi chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society
Boca Raton , Florida
You are cordially invited to participate in this conference.Please submit an
abstract for a paper, poster, or experiential presentation. These abstracts will
be subject to blind review by members of the committee.
Abstracts must be submitted by October 15, 2006
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The conference will gather enthusiasts of all disciplines who have a common
commitment to advancing the integration of artistic expressions and therapies in
healing practices within the theme:
Transformative Healing Through the Arts .
The three major foci of this conference are:
• Aesthetics in Health Care
• Knowledge Development
• Clinical Applications of the Arts as Healing Modality
The conference will highlight experiential activities used to create healing
environments and to explore the use of the arts in the promotion of health and
wellness. Current research related to the use of the Arts in Healing will be
presented during poster presentations and concurrent oral sessions.

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing in its new building will host the
conference .
There will be three keynote addresses by renowned experts in the field.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
• All abstracts should be written in English and not more than 250 words.
• These should be single-spaced, Times New Roman Font size 12 Point Type
with one-inch all-around margins.
• Contents of abstract:

Research Abstract : Title of Abstract, Name of Authors (Presenter's name
underlined), and the following categories: objectives, research design,
setting, participants, intervention, main outcome measures, results and
conclusions..
Theoretical Abstracts : Title of Abstract, Name of Authors (Presenter's
name underlined), and the following categories if applicable: Objectives,
description of concept, discussion and implications as they relate to
practice.
Please submit the following :
1). Abstract copies, and 2). Information sheet to:
