Just to make clear - attachments are not permitted on the LS because
of the inherent risk of either nuisance attachments or virus
transmission.

The very best alternatives are as follows:

1. If you have access to a server, put a copy of the attachment on a
server and provide a link to it in your post to the LS

2. If no server, you can send me a copy of the file and I will either
post it on the LS site or my own webserver - the advantage of my own
server is that it tends to be easier to direct people to where it will
be than is true for the LS server.

3. If aesthetic considerations are less important than the content -
post the text into your email rather than dealing with the file at all.

4. If there is no well defined text - bite the bullet and boil it all
down to as complete a summary as possible in a few words.

Best we can do in a world in which spurious attachments and computer
viruses are abundant.
