Hello again.
A couple of people asked about my dissertation - well maybe it was
only 1 person but that was enough for me... :-)
Anyhow, I have made a really, really poor quality pdf of it - lacks
formatting finesse, correct pagination, etc. some of the actual final
pages were printed individually to get the page numbers done right and
I don't have time to put it together electronically the way it ought
to be.
So with the understanding that quoting from it, especially page
references, would be a very poor idea, it is available on line. It is
missing some irrelevant appendices (permissions, IRB submission info,
etc) that are in the bound versions... Like most of us, my energy for
this particular project is pretty low - maybe I will find someone who
can make a better copy in the near future but not now... it still
isn't in dissertation abstracts so it is either here or nowhere at all...
so here is where it is:

I also recommend saving it to your own machine before viewing it.
sometimes it fails when i view it on the web without saving it locally...
Tasteful, positive, comments always well received...
