Re: The Society's logo

OK - never one to shy away from offending all comers and putting my foot in my
mouth...

I think there may be some confusion here - quite possibly my own.

There are at least two, very different, logos that I know of that are associated
with SRS.

The first I know about was a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing piece of graphic
wizardry designed by an incredibly talented graphic designer from Richmond, VA
named Joe. If memory serves correctly it was created some time during my
doctoral program at VCU (2000-2004). I believe it was used on official
stationery but others may know far better.

The second logo I know about, which appears on the current martha e rogers
website is - cough, cough - a somewhat less aesthetically pleasing graphical
image that was likely created using MS-Paint.

There may be a 3rd, as there is an icon on the original martha rogers webpage
designed and maintained by Fran Biley until subsumed under the current page,
that looks like a book cover with a spiral on it.

So, the appropriate question might be - which logo do you want to know about? I
am guessing the first or the third, because i don't think anyone would think of
a slinky when looking at the logo that appears on the current website.

Beauty being as it is, others may feel differently about my characterization of
the logo that adorns the current website but personally I'd like to see the
beautiful logo there...

Just one bear's opinion of course...
