I was stunned this morning by a clip of our "President" speaking. I
haven't been able to find a transcript - I think he wandered off from
his carefully prepared remarks because the transcripts i have found
don't include what he said.

The gist of what he said and I would really love it if someone can
find and transcribe it - was that until Paulson and Bernanke explained
it to him, he did not understand that financial markets around the
world were interlinked and that what happens in the US has
reverberations around the world and vice versa.

It is as though his intellectual development and grasp of economics
are stuck in time in the 1950s and he has no idea what the term
"Global Economy" really means despite the fact that he has used it
hundreds of times in carefully orchestrated sound bites and speeches
the last few years.

Appalling and profoundly dangerous ignorance for a "world leader".
