Im not sure if I should really write on Bear's behalf, but I think he has little
to do with the list now, Ive taken over responsibility for it...hope Im not
misrepresenting you Bear.
Unless or even if you can embed a discussion group in the new web pages, in my
opinion it would be best to keep the yahoo group presence as well....the more
variety, within reason (one web page, one discussion grp, one wiki etc), the
better; although these things have a history of not being very well supported.
Several years ago I set up a blog, which nobody ever seemed to acknowldge, and
certainly never contributed to. We also need a good Wikipedia entry....very high
priority that....
Any web designer worth his/her salt should be able to import the existing Rogers
site into a new one very easily, although personally I would suggest starting
from scratch. You are more than welcome to utilise any of the content that you
can find useful.
Bear keeps a 'mirror' site on his server, and in addition the Visions archive,
but I would suggest that the easiest solution would be to download the Visions
CD onto the new site although the files are very large and this will have an
impact on bandwidth usage and therefore cost.
Hope this helps, Fran

- Jacqui's papers
Fran, I noticed that the papers were not on the Rogers site you had established
awhile ago. The SRS Board is now exploring what is involved in establishing a
web site via a commercial server and web designer/manager, rather than using a
university based server, due to individual relocations and the like. Would it be
possible to transfer what is on "your" site to a new site?
Bear, If we go ahead with the commercial web site, what do we do with this yahoo
listserv and the Visions files? Do we want to keep the yahoo listserv?
Best regards,
Jacqui

Jacqui's papers
Hi, Jacqui and all; Ive just checked the/my Rogers site, and although the links
still seem to be there, the papers don't appear. I guess that the site will
gradually and slowly de-grade and eventally die as I have no control over it
anymore. Its possible that they might be found on Bear's mirror site?
Fran

Howard, You are most welcome. I cannot take on another new writing project at
this point but perhaps one or more of the papers I have presented at SRS
conferences that have not been published could be added to the book. I recall
that Fran Biley had one or two of my papers on his web site at one time. Let me
know if you are interested-if so, I will find the files for those papers. Best
regards, Jacqui

Thanks Jacqui.
In a true wiki sense, it wonıt be ³my book,² but rather ³our² book. Although
Iım the primary editor or organizer of the site, I sure hope many will be
involved in mutually co-writing and editing all the content. Are you
interested in being a member/writer . . .?
Howard
