mvps-d_oi_nova is the online group related to The MVPS/D & OI Support Group of Northern Virginia. We discuss symptoms, coping, testing, and treatments of MVPS/D, POTS, and NMH. We also discuss health practitioners who recognize and treat mitral valve prolapse syndrome / dysautonomia and other forms of OI.

We welcome long distance members as well as local. Delete any messages irrelevant to you.

OI = Orthostatic Intolerance
POTS = Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and
NMH = Neurally Mediated Hypotension.

Our messages includes meeting and conference call reminders, media alerts, meeting summaries, articles, essays, etc. Members are welcome to send us information they feel might be appropriate to share with others of the group.

Our members are also invited to join Elly's Gratitude Group (EGG) via CFSupport for people with CFS/FM and MVPS/D and OI. That group assumes members know the symptoms and treatments available so the focus of attention can be completely on using the heart's positive influences, especially gratitude, to make more space in our minds and hearts for healing. We share tips on spending less energy on the annoying which gives us more to deal with what we have to.
