Hello I am Brian and I am a workalcoholic..well up to when I got MRSA. I had a
callous that never healed. On the surface was just a callous but when they dug
and dug it was infected. I worked 7 days aweek, 2 full time jobs, and not a
great marriage, I was always angry and took it out on everyone in my path. not a
great life. but after many of times in the hospitals and a partial
amputation...I love life now. Sure I still have bad days...who doesn't?? But my
life is more complete... I have no regrets about the amputation, I feel great
about it, I mean sure my life has changed and it sucks I still get sick. But it
really slowed me down, ..never wanted to be at home. but now its like a second
chance to work on my marriage, relationship with kids. and i am learning so
much..drawing, painting, learned how to knit, make cards, scrapbook, how to
communicate, my wife is happier than she ever has. so a lot of positive came by
having staph. I am home all the
time and enjoying life.

answers but are there any positive stories out there. Thanks

Absolutley! This is such a great topic and very dear to my heart. Our story is
long but I'll try be brief. If you want read more about our recovery story you
can see it here: http://www.mrsasupportgroup.com/ourmrsastory.html
(also some info on our home page, I think?)
I had MRSA symptoms for years which went undiagnosed, misdiagnosed and even
diagnosed without the doctor TELLING me. To add insult to injury, I was even
laughed at when I correctly diagnosed myself (actually a very good surgeon who I
still like alot... he finally got me on the road to recovery by getting me
properly cultured). Most of my symptoms would be considered CA-MRSA but I did
have a finger wound that was making me septic which could be considered
HA-MRSA... the line is so blurry now. I was finally properly diagnosed in 2008
but had just given birth to my 2nd child, a baby girl. After realizing all the
failures that antibiotics had to offer (and with additional concerns for my
nursing baby), I turned to clinically-tested alternative treatments. It was
even better than I expected (I'll admit I still had doubt and A LOT of fear at
that time). I felt better than I had in a long time (you don't realize just how
bad you feel until you finally start to get better). Unfortunately, my baby
started showing signs of MRSA just a few months later (at 4 months old). I'm
proud to tell you that she recovered using the same stuff I did and never took
one ABx at all. HORAAY! We also ended up doing some major diet changes in our
household. We don't go crazy cleaning our home mostly because we just don't
have the time. Alternative therapies and diet change worked with very little
supplementation which I'm just not into. Diet change can seem overwhelming but
I've helped quite a few families with one or two changes at a time. It's not as
hard as you might imagine and more about priorities than anything.
In February, I started a support website. I used to stay awake at night with
all this info running about in my head and it was such a relief to get it all
out. Shortly after that, I started selling stable allicin and offering
consultation for that as well as diet and other things that can help. There is
hope but you must root your hope in knowledge and do your own research. If we
continue to rely on the same things over & over that do NOT work, we will get
the same results. God bless those who do not experience recurrences... they are
few & far between. The rest of us need to take charge of our health care and
make some serious changes if we want to stick around on this planet as long as
possible.
I look forward to reading more success stories.
:-)

My MRSA was short lived thank God. I had a cortisone shot in both knees, and one
filled with MRSA. Within a few days I had 2 surgeries on that knee, spent a
total of 6 weeks in the hospital, and have not had a positive set of swabs yet.
That was in 2005. 4 years later I'm still MRSA free. And I haven't had to have
cortisone in that knee either since.
Your story is encouraging. I am still trying to find a way to outwit the bug.
I began taking colloidal silver about 3 weeks ago, about 4 days prior to the end
of the last round of antibiotics from my last infection - cellulitis in my right
forearm. The infection seems to be at bay right now. What is frustrating is
waiting to see where it will pop up next.
I have a question. Have any of you experienced small hard nodules with a thin
clear skin over them that ooze serum when broken open? I have 2 about 4 to 5
inches away from the original infection site on my arm. Since I started taking
colloidal silver they don't "progress" into a full-blown infection, but those
little things seem to take forever to heal. I'm wondering if they are "pockets"
of MRSA infection, or something else entirely.

I have celluitis also. I have a question do you cover up your breakouts when you
go to work and do you stay away from others at work when you have one. I am
returning to work aug 17 and I'm afraid once the antibiotics stop I will have a
breakout. Thanks

I started buying my silver from our local health food co-op, but it was
simply TOOOO pricey. Swanson's on the Internet carries Silver Biotics,
a very good product. You can also get Silver Biotics at your local GNC.
You can
also create it yourself. I've been doing a lot of research on the
Internet about colloidal silver generators. I have one on order and
can't wait to get it and start producing my own. You have to use distilled
water, and should only make small batches of about 8 to 16 ounces at a time.
I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

I do cover my lesions. I'm also very conscious of touching others. I try to
keep personal contact to a minimum - even when I don't have an active outbreak.
I disinfect my area every day, use hand sanitizer all the time, wash my hands
frequently. At present I have nothing to cover, and I owe that to my new
regimen with tea tree oil and colloidal silver.

Health food stores carry it, but usually those are pretty expensive. GNC
carries Silver Biotics, and you can order Silver Biotics from Swansons Vitamins
on the Internet. MUCH less espensive that other brands. Watch for sales (I'm
the queen of sales - if it's not on sale I don't buy it) and consider brewing
your own. You can buy or make a colloidal generator. I have one on order that
should be arriving within a week. I'm excited to start making my own.

Hello, Nova. Thanks for your response to my question about the little hard
