We used the neosporing and bactroban with one of Jimmy's outbreaks,
and it didn't do anything for him (I had a Dr friend tell me once
that neosporin is actually stronger than bactroban, but it harsher
on little ones' skin). The one Dr who knew nothing about it
prescribed an antifungal cream, which didn't do anything for it
either (which never made sense to me since it's a bacteria...). The
only thing that fights it back is Cleocin. When we see the
specialist on the 19th, I'm going to ask them about putting him on
Septra/Bactrim long term since the Cleocin doesn't seem to kill it
all the way, just weaken it enough to make the abcesses go away for
a whle.
