I'm so sorry to hear about what your daughter has gone through!
I have no idea where Jimmy aquired his MRSA. I'm assuming it's
community aquired since we had been to the mall not too long before
his first outbreak--but how it got into his diaper, I'm not sure
about since I didn't change him there. None of us have never been
tested, we just did the nasal antibiotics as a precaution. Up until
last month, both kids were uninsured, so testing would have sent us
to the poor house. As for my grandma, one of my aunts even asked
the Dr if it was staph, and he told her no it wasn't. It wasn't
until weeks after her death when the death certificate came, that we
found out that it was staph.
And I totally agree that this has gotten entirely out of hand. Just
the fact that the Children's hospital has a special clinic just for
kids with MRSA (with a waiting list) proves that to me. There just
seems to be so much that they don't know about it that makes it so
frustrating.
