Ill second what Nancy said. As a former nail tech, I am more than
totally aware of how hard it is (impossible in a salon setting, really)
to get the bacteria out of those pedicure baths. The worst ones being
the most luxurious ones, with moving water and plumbing. To my
knowledge, those people in California that broke out with sores were
never reported publically as having MRSA, but I am going through my
life saying that it sure looked like MRSA to me, and whatever it was,
it was not good. No more public pedicures for me!
i just saw on the news that many people getting
pedicures were getting bad sores on their legs. a very nasty problem so
advice for all those with mrsa dont even think about getting one. its
the nasty water problem and the drains.they first thought they were
like bites but them they got all infected
Hopefully
you got rid of it... Your lucky you didn't get clostridium
difficile from all the antibiotics, make sure you repopulate your
intestin flora with probiotics...It probably would not hurt to go and
consult another ID if you can find one that gives second opinions.
MRSA lives in the nose, make sure you don't have a pet rubbing their
nose on your legs. A firm "no" will teach the pet not to do this...I
taught my puppy to stop. Clean your house well and take care of all
cuts.
