Hello I developed MRSA this past summer (August) I had six boils on
my leg. After lancing and antiobiotic treatment I thought I was
through with this. The ID doctor never mentioned any thing about it
coming back. In November of this year I developed a sinus infection
that would not go away after two weeks I awoke with severe facial pain
and went to the ER. A CAT scan revealed my left sinus was completely
filled with infection. The DR admitted me for observation and
antibiotics. The next day a nasal swab revealed MRSA. I had no idea.
I spent a week in the hospital and had sinus surgery. I returned home
to 10 days of IV therapy. I feel much better now...but I am concerned
about another occurance. The ID dr...seemed very unconcerned and told
me to live a normal life. Does anyone have advice? Should I get a
second opinion. I am a 38 year old middle school teacher with three
children.
Thank you
C~
