It is great to have finally found a message board for MRSA.

I have had MRSA since 12/2002. My wife got it 01/2003. I have had
it in both ears since 10/2003.

As far as my ears are concerned, nothing would contain it except for
zyvox. I have taken zyvox twice and each time it came back in the
ears. Usually alot of fluid develops in the ears. It also is very
painful. I saw an infectious disease doctor for the ear problems.
Until I was diagnosed with MRSA in my ears no infectious disease
doctor would see me. Usually the medical doctor would want a
dermatologist to look at it. After the second round of zyvox the
infectious disease doctor told me that I was resistant to all
medication for MRSA. She was pretty negative about my future with
MRSA. She said I would have to get use to living with it because
there was nothing that could be done.

I also get huge boils on my face and my neck. When this starts I
will take bactrim which makes it go away only to return in a couple
of weeks. If I take nothing it will spread all over my body. My
wife on the other hand only gets boils and they don't happen very
often.

Finally, my wife and I are no longer welcome around my mother or
sister. I found this out a couple of weeks ago. My sister has a
child so the fear is one of them will get and give to her child. I
understand this but at the same time feel like I will never see
either one again. Anyway since I have showed signs of this no
family member or friend has come down with it so I think it is
somewhat hard to catch.

Thanks for the time to vent. I appreciate it.
