Re: [MRSA] Digest Number 112
Thanks Betty,
Dad had surgery yesterday to clear out those pockets. The infection got
worse over the time he was home with a drain and they found two pockets
dripping into a cavity at the base of his spine. they cleared all those
out and now he has a Vanco/saline drip going directly into the infection
site and two little vacuum drains pulling the crud out. So it's kind of
supposed to flush it I guess. The docs are baffled. It's bad...
I am going to go buy him some things my dh found in his herbal book and
make him start on them. it's crazy, because my parents are good friends
with an ND and yet they've not worked that avenue much with this illness.
Thank you for that information, we use Tee Tree here at our house all the
time. I don't think I'd put it on an open wound either but that too was
something dh found in his book.
So MSRA is more of a skin infection then right? This is inside at his
spine, and a direct result of the first surgery when they put the hardware
in. They said the bone graft looks good so they didn't remove it. Which
is good and bad. Good because he needs support in his back, and bad
because these foreign objects seem to attract the infection over and over
again.
Looking forward to hearing more about this and again, any and all advice is
very welcome.
