There's lots of information about pets (they say cats, rabbits and
dogs), do a google search or try

Since I first posted, things took a turn for the worst, I had to go
back to the hospital several times, they finally told me in the ER
that they didn't feel comfotable treating me and the I needed an ID
specialist, that might put me on exotic antibiotics. Luckily, I have
had things turn back for the better just as quick as they were
turning bad. The ID said things look good and gave me the ointment for
the nose as a precaution. As far as the pets go you will probably
encounter just as much strong opinion on the "oh don't worry about the
pet transmission" as much as the "lack of knowledge" on many doctors
regarding MRSA. (the passions run high on both sides of the issue).
After initially trying to talk use out of it, Our vet has agreed to
test our dog when
she gets spade next month...although it may be unnessisary if I got it
from myself etc. This thing has caused enough problems for me I still
want to pursue it.
As far as the other person who just posted, I consider myself
EXTREMELLY, in fact a miracle, lucky that you situation did not happen
to me. I'm sure countless people die constantly because of the lack of
knowledge. I think it is outragous that you had to go through it and,
my personal opinion is that you should look into legal action (for
many reasons beyond just your case.
Anyways just to add, the ID told me that this could have occurred for
several reasons, my immune system was very worn down at the time, I
didn't clean the wound (thought it was a zit just like you and tried
to drain it myself), then was exposed to the organism itself in the
environment, my genetic makeup and the outside fact that the organism
is become more prevelant to to overuse and improper use of
antibiotics. So he said probably certain combinations fell together to
cause this. I might receover for a while but I will be certainly
predisposed to this as I age.
I'm not sure if is like most diseases where being exposed to it helps
your body recognize it because you develope some antibodies.
p.s. I also found that all the hand sanitizer, bacterial soap and
hydrogen perokide I've been using has made my skin raw. If anyone
knows what of the following people can use safly without skin cell
breakdown for wounds please post (i.e. bactine, neosporin, iodine
antiseptic). Please let us know I've found they have a lotion called
peachy clean that is made with the ingreadiant of bactine but don't
know what the long term use of that does to the skin. I'm told just
soap and hot water is better than all of the above.
Thanks
