First, as a holistic practitioner, I support a universal system of health care.
Holistic and alternative health care solutions are generally embraced by every
country that has one. You can even get reflexology done in the hospital in
Europe. Insurance companies and pharmaceuticals will never support
complementary health because it takes money out of their pockets. It forces
them to lower prices or offer services that they would rather not.
I do not buy into the hype of fear politics to determine my position. I do the
research myself and make an objective decision. Being in a family of
politicians, I know first hand how insurance companies, pharmaceuticals, and the
AMA buy off votes and paint anything that opposes or questions them. In
Missouri, be have not been able to protect health freedom because of them.
Women are not able to be serviced at home by midwives without risk of criminal
charges. Holistic practitioners have to walk a fine line so as not to be
accused of practicing medicine if they give someone an herbal remedy. This is
where our current system has taken us. I would rather risk some other approach
than stick with what we already know doesn't work.
