¡ñ 10 to 11:30 a.m. ¨C *Film Screening *of Ricki Lake documentary "The
Business of Being Born," Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library, 214
Adams Street. Limited seating.

¡ñ 12 p.m. ¨C *Rally of Midwifery Supporters, *Capitol Building Rotunda, 201 W
Capitol Avenue. We are working on getting lunch provided. If you can
donate a case of bottled water or help with lunch (pizza, sandwiches, finger
food), please let us know.

A note on our goals for these events:
We are hoping to have a great turnout in Jeff City on Thursday. We are
expecting a good bit of media coverage, including *national* news coverage.
Our goal in gathering outside the courthouse is to respectfully show our
support of the midwifery law - and to show just how many people care about
this issue. We want to be careful to not get in the way or become annoying
to the judge and officials who are trying to do their job.

There will not be much room in the courtroom, and there should be *no *children
in the courtroom, but we have a great opportunity to make a huge impression
in the court of public opinion! We can do this by being orderly and
respectful in our conduct, nicely dressed (as "mainstream" as possible), and
well spoken when approached by the press.

We suggest that everyone think of a sentence or two that you can go over and
over until you know you can speak it confidently to a reporter. This is
such a terrific opportunity to influence public opinion - including the
opinions of those who likely will be hearing this case down the road.
