  Here's a breakdown - For the 2004 data which was published in July of 2006:
  
  Deaths from flu and pneumonia are combined for a grand total for everyone of:
  61,472.  From that 61,472, it is then broken down by:
  
  Total: (page 17)
  Flu deaths: 1,265
  Pneumonia Deaths: 60,207
  
  For infants: (page 23)
  Combined death rate: 275
  Flu deaths: 16
  Pneumonia Deaths: 259
  
  65 years and older account for: 54,485 deaths - however, it is both pneumonia and flu combined (there was no separation with this).

This article published today giving support (NIH backed research) to mandatory flu shots. I really think that is coming after the Bird Flu vaccine is completed.

(i.e. the "incentive" could be that you can't get on a plane without proof
