I had been looking for a local diet group that accepts low carb for a long time.
I recently stumbled across a group called TOPS. This is a very old group, and
they don't seem to care how you diet as long as it is "sensible." To me,
"sensible" can mean almost anything. They have groups that meet throughout the
Bay Area.

I had previously heard about another group called Overeater's Anonymous, but I
hated the group name. I do not think of myself as an overeater. Why join a
group that insults itself in its name?

I have been told that Weight Watchers is shifting toward low carb in their
"core" program. I have heard conflicting opinions about it.

In any case, TOPS membership is cheap. I like the idea of having an official
weigh-in, and the opportunity to chat with some other dieters.
