Hi Dave - what great results you've been experiencing (very
inspirational). I would suggest that the slowing in the pace of your
weight loss is completely fine, and probably quite healthy. I know it
feels like the momentum is probably slowing, but remember that all the
experts say that regardless of which plan you are following, sustainable
weight loss is attributed to an average of 1 lb per week. We all know,
however, that the low-carb lifestyle typically is associated with 2 lbs
per week (or more depending on your starting weight), which is part of
why we love it so much - we get results much more quickly. I don't know
enough about your lifestyle or your stats (height for example) to really
comment, but 1200 calories does not seem like enough for a man, even on
a weight loss plan. I would suggest that the 1,500 calories is fine for
now, and likely more sustainable over the long run.
Also - I was curious about your goal weight - would you mind sharing how
tall you are ?
Best
Lisa

Subject: [Low_Carb_SF_Bay_Area] Whoosh Week
This last week has been whoosh week for me, so I would like to share
links to my latest FitDay charts/graphs.
I am 56 pounds down since November, 2003, and 50 pounds down since I
began Low Carb on December 1st, 2003.
chart since December 2003: http://techmart.com/~cubit/Chart22B.gif
one month chart: http://techmart.com/~cubit/Chart22.gif
It has been becoming more difficult, recently, to maintain an average
loss per week around 2.3 pounds. Part of this is due to my lower
weight, but I think the main reason is my increase in dining out. I am
able to order low carb food, but the calories are huge. I want to
average 1200 calories per day. The last two weeks I averaged about 1500
calories per day. Also, I can only estimate the weights of restaurant
foods. At home I use my kitchen scale.
This group seems pretty dead lately. I'm wondering how many are still
following low carb and how many were just part of the January diet fad?
Would anyone attended the April meeting in Saratoga care to report on
how it went?
Dave
