I like my dentist, but I don't know if he is considered reasonable or
not, however I do think he is good. I do have insurance. If you
call him, do let him know that I referred you and of course let the
receptionist know your daughter doesn't have insurance.

environmental dentist on the west side... My daughter had a tooth
worked on by 2 different dentists a couple of years ago and it's

the reasonable)...

I really like our dentist on Robertson. Not sure of his prices but he's old
school in a good way, really takes his time and gives very personal attention.
His wife runs the business. I saw 2 other dentists before I found him thru my
husband's work. I was overcharged and told I had all kinds of problems. Dr.
Holstein gave me good preventive care without the scare tactics.

Dear celiac friends,
I had a Thanksgiving to remember when a dairy-free friend, Maya Loch,
invited me over for a gluten-free/dairy-free dinner on Thursday. After I
raved about it, she sent me the adaptation she made for dressing. (NOT the
kind you stuff in the bird)
Happy Holidays,
Mary Courtney
Adapted from <Body and Soul> magazine (formerly a recipe for Ferro which
isn’t GF)
Quinoa and Mushroom Dressing
Serves 8
2 cups Quinoa
2 tablespoons olive oil
10 oz cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced
4 shallots, minced
4 ribs celery, minced
2 oz smoked country ham, diced (GF found at Whole Foods’ deli counter)
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh sage, plus more for garnish
½ cup dry white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
Coarse salt and ground pepper
1. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add quinoa and
cook as directed. Drain any excess water when done.
2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add
mushrooms, shallots, celery, ham, and 1 tablespoon sage; season with salt
and pepper. Cook until celery is crisp-tender.
3. Add wine and cook until evaporated. Add 1 tablespoon sage and
vegetable mixture to quinoa; toss to combine.
4. Serve garnished with extra sage leaves.

Dear All:
Wishing you a good GF Thanksgiving. Donna Malamud sent this on to me

the list is often updated as scientists learn more. I don't remember
knowing that the GF diet is good for Eczema.

The evening of our last meeting when Fresh Brothers gave us pizza, I called
them to thank them for their generosity. They were happy to hear we
liked their pizza. I thought it was excellent! They deserve our business!

I would not recommend Lucifers. The employees don't get gf, and the

Fresh Brothers provided pizza's and chicken wings at the last
meeting. It was within a few days after opening the location in the
Marina. Everyone enjoyed, in addition to the great food provided by
everyone else. Yes, good point, Karen, I shouldn't let this out,
but I once ate a whole pizza at Fresh Brothers at the Redondo Beach
location, since they don't provide the gluten-free by the slice.
Maybe we should meet over there to share one! One day when we
aren't on diets!!

My favorite, though not fresh-baked, biscotti is by Mariposa. SO good. From
NorCal. I don't know if Whole Foods carries them, but Erewon does.

Thanks Amy. I don't recall if I had a good experience at Houston's
in SM. Haven't been to Xian since before I was diagnosed, will have
to venture there again. You told us about a place called Creation at
the meeting, would you mind writing a review for that one? Just want
all to know that I am compiling these reviews for our updated edition
for our GF Dining List. So anyone else have a review, let us know
about it. Thanks & have a great Thanksgiving. Suzanne

Does anyone know where I can buy Gluten free biscotti ,ginger snaps etc. Whole
foods has a pretty limited selection. I am using them for pie crusts. I live on
the westside.
Thanks very much
What do I do just send it out as a post?

Hi Amy,
We really welcome more reviews. These are some guidelines: Name, address,
telephone number, area of town, website, more than one location? If so where? Do
they have a gluten-free menu, if not are they familiar with Celiac Disease? Do
they know what gluten is? Do you think there would be much contamination? Price
point. And how delicious the food is or is not.
Hope that helps.

experience at the century city location. I went after the lunch rush and
ordered fish sauteed in butter and garlic and a baked potato. I have also had
their tuna roll with my own gf soy sauce.

soup which they told me is made with broth that's made from scratch. Then they
made the sweet and sour chicken for me without any flour. And they were really
nice about all of it. And its very reasonably priced –Amy G

Would it be possible to get a copy of this list, or was this the list of
restaurants sent in a previous email?
Thanks so much. I was unable to attend the meeting.

Anyone eat at JOHN O'GROATS in Encino?
Have eaten there twice recently and do have to tell you it was delicious and
they are very conscious of being gluten-free.
I had Buckwheat Pancakes and the Winston Omelet. Yummy.
Good possibility of having a gluten-free menu soon. They also have a separate
kitchen, so they feasibly could do the gluten-free items in that kitchen. For
now, they use the one kitchen.
It's on Ventura, cross street Woodley on the south side of the street. Address:
10516 Pico Boulevard and 16120 Ventura Boulevard, Encino. BTW I don't know if
the Pico address has two kitchens.
Mira'le on 3rd near La Cienega was offering gf breads for
sandwiches, etc. Owner was very eager to please. Haven't been in a
while so you may want to call and confirm before you go.

Any recommendations for a gluten free coffee shop/restaurant in the Beverly
Hills area?
I will re-check the restaurant list we got at Sunday's meeting.
Thank you....Mary
