Hrm. Any word on Twinnings English Breakfast? I had that yesterday, and got
sick about three hours later, although I was feeling a little sick before I
had the tea. Come to think of it, that's why I had the tea.
Anyway, I think I'm still detoxing, or whatever.
The good news is so far today I'm feeling fine, so maybe last night was just
a hiccup.
Seeya,
H

Subject: [Los_Angeles_Celiac] GF tea
Hello again,
Here's more on Jane Pannor's research for really clean (GF) tea and some
things about teas I learned this month.
Jane's interest in organic tea led her to "Choice" brand organic tea,
distributed by "Mountain People." It is sold in bulk, but "Choice" also
makes gluten-free tea bags if you want to buy the bags and bag your own tea.
(NB: Some tea bags have been found to be dusted with flour, thus the close
scrutiny on Jane's part.) Jane will likely get back to us with any local
sources of the tea and/or bags, but if you know of local sources of very GF
tea/bags, please write in!
Coincidentally, I recently checked on my two favorite brands: Traditional
Medicinals and Celestial Seasonings. Their teas and bags are GF, except for
the teas that obviously contain barley, etc. in the ingredient list.
When Celestial Seasonings called me back I was given a long list of non-GF
teas to avoid:
Please AVOID the following Celestial Seasonings teas:
Almond Sunset, Canadian Vanilla Maple, Detox AM, Echinacea (the pink box,
not Echinacea Complete Care), English Toffee, Gingerbread Spice, Ginseng
Energy, Rostaroma, and the discontinued Menopause Nights. At holiday time,
AVOID their Sugar Plum Spice and Vanilla Hazelnut.
I recently requested the free Clan Thompson mini list sample and received
the email update on teas pasted below. Interesting how the Celestial
Seasonings "not GF" list dictated to me over the phone varies a little bit
from the list below with regard to the Echinaceas and Ginger Spice. It's
possible that more than one of the tea names I was given are no longer on
the shelves.
It pays to double check!
Wishing you safe sipping,
Mary
