Little Egypt Search And Rescue (LESAR) is an independent search and rescue group in the Southern Illinois region.

This Group is for the discussion of Search And Rescue (SAR) related topics. They may range from local to international. Gear, tactics, management, innovations, training, etc.

There is much for us to share and much for us to question. New persons, do NOT hesitate to ask those "stupid" questions...you have to at some point and they are never "stupid". We all learn sometime. And you "seasoned" SAR personnel :) Don't hesitate to give guidance to the young and un-washed.

Please keep it civil and non-slanderous. We are a family by choice, and if you choose to not act as such, you will be removed.

Now a little about LESAR:

We are seeking our Non-profit status.

We are dedicated to the search for and rescue of lost and/or injured persons. We will respond to any official law enforcement or otherwise designated incident command agency. We shall not self-deploy.

Our organization is made up of Unpaid Professionals trained in the lastest ground search techniques and will promote any individual willing to expand his or her knowledge in the arena of SAR, such as Mounted Patrol, K9, 4x4, mantracking, disaster, high/low angle rescue, etc.

Any questions are welcome and anyone interested in joining LESAR is welcome to apply if you are in the Southern Illinois area and/or would like to participate in our discussions.
