Alan,
Here is an example; I am doing a short article on anticoagulants. I make it
very clear that I know my stuff by listing indications; you know the usual
suspects, MI, Ischemic CVA and prevention of DVT. Tell them about all of this,
without using our lingo of course. Then I bring in the fact that the monitoring
of these medications is dependent on the diagnosis and the type of anticoagulant
used. This is a situation where an abnormal lab value may actually be a normal
value. I don't go into PTT's or INR's, this description gives them a pretty good
idea that they are in over their head and will probably miss significant data.
You are selling yourself and if you have critical care experience (as I do)
there are so many things to write about that it is almost endless. My attitude
is, THEY NEED US! Make them understand this and you will have your first case.
Good Luck
Bob

I have never done a newsletter. It sounds like a good idea, I just
don't know what information. Any suggestions?

Alan,
Are you using a news letter? Show them what they don't know and how much you do.
Make them understand how much time they are wasting without your expertise. They
really are wasting a lot of time and missing obvious data in their discovery
processes. We just need to get them to realize it.

I am Alan Thomas, RN, CLNC.
I live in rural Wyoming. Wyoming and Montana attorneys are not
interested in learning about LNC's or working with us.
I became a CLNC in June of this year. I have been actively
marketing Attornies by sending my brochure and business card, with
phone call in a week. I have sent out approx. 75 brochures, so far
no cases. I am excited about this new venture.
I plan to attend a Legal Conference in 2007, to meet Attorneys and
obtain some cases to work. While I am waiting to receive my own
cases, I am interested in Subcontracting with another LNC.
I have 20 years experince in Critical care, Medical Surgical.
