THE PLIGHT OF CHILDREN IN NIGERIA   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #98 of 126 |
Hi everyone,
Children in Nigeria are unduly exposed to lead and up to 75% of
Children in Nigeria have blood lead above the recommended unit.(10
microgram per dl, 96% of paints produced in Nigeria have lead above
the hazardous level, Leaded gazoline is still in use in Nigeria. But
the funny thing is that the general populace is neither knowledgeable
about lead nor aware of the it's health implications. Even among most
health care practitioners lead is an unheard of disease. The government
is not doing anything about this worrisome situation eating deep into
the future of the country in whose handsit's future lies. This is the
pathetic situation of Nigerian children.
