Re: [LeadedKids] Occupational therapy

Found this in my archives. Thought you might still be out there. Was wondering how it was going with your ten year old. I also wanted to comment about our OT experience. My son is ten. We attend OT as it the only activity that my son actually enjoys and doesnt complain about other symptoms. We also experience more symptoms at home than other places. We also use the brushing technique. It seems as though it is always changing. One thing works one day the next it doesnt. We have been to color and noise therapy where they learned he was hearing things that dogs here! Crazy! Its no wonder he has complaints. We have also done the audio cds and massage. I try anything I can to see if we might hit the magic button. School is bad to. The flourecent lights, the noises, and class size. Well I am sure its nothing new to you. I would love to chat more if anyone has comments or sugestions. My son was a year old when diagnosed with lead poisoning. There is so much concern, money and doctors for prevention but then these kids get thrown to the wayside.

My son has recently started OT. We are using the brushing technique and
others given by our therapist. Has anyone else used OT to help relieve
the sensory stuff from lead? Aggresion, anger, anxiety? My son is
almost ten. Is anyone else having more of those problems at home than
at school? Does anyone have any other tips?
