Hi all....
I have written before, and I apologize for always asking so many
questions and the same questions to boot!! I just never feel like I
have all the answers...sigh.
I believe my son (age 9) has a variant of LKS.
He had an eeg (20-30 min. duration) done at age 7---was
abnormal---doctor diagnosed him as Developmental Aphasia.
2 yrs later he had another eeg (20 min. duration-- I asked if he could
have an overnight eeg but neuro. said it would be "overkill") and it
came out normal.
Can the neurologist really rule out any seizure activity by observing
such short eeg's?? He (the neuro.) claims he can. I want to believe
him, but I don't feel that everything is being done for my son (NOTHING
is really being done...he is on imipram right now to treat some anxiety
issues--and he is seeing a speech therapist). I really don't know what
I should do.
Any suggestions, ideas, info, etc. would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Jennifer
