Hey Laughter Leaders,
Ejay Green, one of the laughter yoga leaders I've trained, has asked me to post
this information about a seminar she is going to be co-leading. So please check
it out.

Healing with Vibration

Please Join Kevin Fisher and Ejay Green at Journey Resource Center (old city
hall in West Union) as they present an introduction to Healing with Vibration.
Saturday November 14th from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
with an hour lunch break on your own.
$10 per person.
Maximum of ten people.
(If there is an overflow of interested people we will repeat the program Sat.
Nov. 21st from 1 to 3)

Vibrational healing has been around for thousands of years, but as our modern
civilization is more technological based we have lost our awareness of sound as
a healing tool. In this introductory presentation learn sound techniques that
you can use in your daily life. Learn about the bodies' normal frequency range
and what happens when this frequency drops below the normal range, and learn
what you can do to bring balance back to your body through sound techniques.

Kevin Fisher became involved with drums in 2006 and has been making and playing
them ever since. Kevin uses drums to induce a trance like state for his
Shamanic healing work. Drumming is great for relaxation and is just plain fun.
Be prepared to get loud! Kevin is a gifted medium and uses crystals to see into
the body to locate blockages, and intrusions.
A drum wash will be included as part of the class.

Ejay Green has spent many years learning different healing techniques, and
healing with vibration is at the top of the list.

Kevin will have some of his beautiful hand made drums for sale on Saturday.

For more information call Ejay at: 563/423/5112 or email at: HYPERLINK
"mailto:ejay@..." ejay@...
To secure your spot please pre-pay by November 2nd non-refundable unless class
is cancelled.

Hi Laughter Yoga Leader Friends,
I already posted about this but I don't think it got sent for some reason. This
is just a quick note to remind you that I'm teaching an LY Leader seminar in
Lansing, Iowa this weekend, June 6-7. If you want a big laughter BOOST, please
join us. Let me know if you are coming and I'll swing you the lowest price
possible! More info at: www.laughteryogaiowa.com.

Also, I now have a laughter e-course so tell your friends about it. It's not as
fun as laughing in person at a retreat or seminar but if you do the homework,
you can learn all you need from home.

Hope all your laughter is delightful!

Warmly,

Hello Laughers,
I just wanted to remind you that there is going to be a laughter yoga leader
retreat in Lansing, Iowa this weekend--June 6 and 7. If you would like to come
as a refresher, you CAN! If fact, I will even make it available to you at an
even rocker-bottom price than normal. Tee heee!

For those of you who graduated early on, I want to let you know that I've
created a new diploma. You can see it at the Iowa School of Laughter Yoga page,
www.laughteryogaiowa.com. It is very colorful and happy. If you come again to
one of my courses, I will make you a new diploma. Woo hoo!

The weather should be nice this weekend and so we'll do much of our learning at
the beautiful park on the bluff in Lansing. Do join us if you can. Let me know
ahead of time so I can have lunch ready for you. A laughter BOOST is a good
thing. ha ha ha!

Laughingly,
Laura

p.s. Thank you all for your prayers, cards and expressions of sympathy upon the
death of my mother. Your kindness matters!

Dearest Laughers, I am happy to report that we had turnout of 7 folks tonight,
including a wonderful experienced Laughter Yoga Leader! We laughed heartily, and
someone even took our picture. HaHaHa I must admit, I was laughing so hard that
I didn't notice. The other club members told me about it later. Not bad for the
first meeting. Thanks for laughing with us on Mondays at 6:30 p.m.

Good Morning Beautiful Ones,

I do not know if many of you are aware of everything that has been going on with
Laura's mother lately, but she had to have an emergency surgery this week and
was placed in ICU for recovery. I will leave the rest of the details to Laura if
she chooses to share them at a later point. I received a call from Laura around
1:45am today (May 8) and her mother had passed away. I do not know much more at
this point other than Laura is out of town and probably will be for the next few
days so she may not receive any calls or emails. I thought you may all want to
know so that you can hold Laura and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

In honor of Laura and her mother I ask you to join me in the celebration of her
mother's life and Ultimate Healing. Today when you have a chance, take a moment
to send out a big hearty laugh of celebration for a life well lived and a family
well loved. If you would like to do this with me just give me a call and we will
do it together. 910-60-3122

Much love to you all,

Hi Laughers,
I just wanted to say sorry about that spam you received about "Disease N Cure"
from this group. The spammer infiltrated our group but I have now banned that
address and this will hopefully keep us safe from such e-mails in the future. :)

How are you all doing? I know we are busy but how is the laughter yoga going?
Are you doing any interesting work with it? Do you have any great ideas or
questions to discuss with us? Please take a moment to post your thoughts.

I have been doing some interesting laughter work lately. I had a fantastic time
with a group of over 100 church women at a Lutheran gathering last week in
Rushford, MN. They nearly laughed themselves off their pews. I also did a
church retreat at Sugar Creek Bible Camp last weekend for the UCC church of
LaCrosse, Wisconsin. What an incredible group of women that was! Everyone needs
more laughter and it is a joy to be able to bring it to them through laughter
yoga. Also, my church had it's third annual "Holy Hilarity Sunday" celebration.
I'll be posting a blog about that soon. If you haven't yet subscribed to my
blog, I encourage you to do so. It is at http://laughingwithlaura.blogspot.com

New Laughter Exercises:

Silly Walk Laughter - Do the silliest walk you can while laughing!

I Just Took a Bite Laughter - Pretend you just took a big bite of food and
someone has asked you a question but you can't really speak because your mouth
is so full--try to chew it and laugh!

I'm Melting Laughter - Pretend to be the wicked witch of the west from Wizard of
Oz and do the melting scene while laughing.

You make a difference! You light the world with your joyful presence. Be
laughter.

Laughingly,
Laura

Laura--Thanks for the reminder.  I have had the retreat on my mind, but I won't be able to be there.  I have another commitment which is not flexible. I have agonized a little about this though, because I believe I really need another training.  Please let me know if you schedule additional trainings and I will try to be there!! I will keep in touch. Love Jean

Hello Laughing Friends,
I just wanted to remind you that the next laughter leader retreat will begin a week from
today--Jan 9-11 in Ferryville, Wisconsin. As you may recall, I have made you all the hard-
to-refuse offer of being able to attend for just $100 for the whole weekend as a refresher
course. If any of you have been thinking about going but have not yet registered, please
do so. I need to know the final count. Do consider coming to laugh! ha ha ha ha!

Also I redid my web site www.laughinglaura. com and it now houses the Iowa School of
Laughter Yoga. I had to consolidate to save my sanity. ha ha ha...but you are all listed
there. Plus if you put in laughteryogaiowa. com it still takes you to that page.

Furthermore I started a fun laughing blog. You can subscribe for free and get fun laughter
updates. That is at laughingwithlaura. blogspot. com.

How are you all doing? Please post your activities here. We want to be inspired by one
another.

Have a happy new year.

Cheers,
Laura

Dear Laughter Friends and Colleagues,

Whether you are a health professional, life coach, laughter leader/teacher, trainer, teacher, manager or simply a human being, this training is certain to enhance your business, your relationships and your life; you do not want to miss it!

Are you serious about your laughter practice?  Do you find yourself wanting to get more out of laughing?  Are you looking to explore a deeper level of laughter?  Would you like to add value to your current program and be an expert in your field?  Does your laughter business need an extra boost to set you apart from all the rest?

Prepare to take the next step in your laughter journey.

My name is Irit Horn and I am a Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher in Maryland, U.S.A.  I recently had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Annette Goodheart, the original Laughter Coach, about her practice as an educator and a Laughter Therapist.  I watched her DVD of laughter therapy sessions and I have never before seen laughter create such an amazing transformation in a person's life.  It was simply INCREDIBLE.  What a fabulous ART!!

If you have not heard of Dr. Goodheart yet, I urge you to check out her website at www.laughtercoach.com.  She is a phenomenal person and she has been laughing and coaching others with laughter therapy for 40 years.  She holds training sessions around the globe, and has appeared on numerous TV shows including "Oprah", been interviewed on radio stations around the world and been written about in The New York Times.  Her first published book "Laughter Therapy" – How to laugh about everything in your life that isn't really funny- is currently available in three languages (English, Danish, Japanese) being translated into four languages and she is now working on writing her second book.

Now YOU have the chance to meet Dr. Goodheart, learn from her and laugh with her.  For the first time, Dr. Goodheart will be teaching an intense 5-day Coaching Certification Program in the USA.  This session will be the first in a 3 part series to earn certification, and CEU's are available for RN's, licensed social workers and marriage and family therapists.

Congrats Mark....My two cents...Lori in Wisconsin..When I sought out
a motivational speaker for Kimberly Clark Corp. (group of about 150,
it was for multiple departments (spread over 2 budgets). We paid
$1500 for 2 hours in 2004. This was a discount rate for someone who
normally charged $5000 for the day. (Splitting $2500 between two
companies - getting a half day each including travel time between)
But he was going to do a half day split with another group and give
us a discount because if it went well we planned to use him again in
other departments. All that is to say, don't sell yourself short in
this art. $700 would not be unreasonable for a large or medium size
corporation. I do not know the scale you are dealing with, so
perhaps the investment of your time and what you are willing to
follwo through on is something to think about in these scaled back
economies. This was just my purchasing end of the experience 4 years
ago.

GOOD WORK, MARK! That's great. Corporate laughter gigs are wonderful because
everyone wins: you get good money and the people get a good laugh.

In terms of payment, begin by asking what their budget it. That's usually a good
place to
start negotiating. If they don't have a number to throw at you, try asking
$500. This may
be attainable or you may have to come down from there. I've been paid anywhere
from
$100-500 for a group of 200. Always ask for mileage as well--the IRS rate is
now $0.585
per mile.

I think corporate presentations are best at 45 minutes to an hour and a half.
Begin by
teaching the amazing health benefits of laughter and the history of laughter
yoga and the
worldwide laughter movement. Then, get them laughing.

Exercises that have worked well for big staff groups for me are:
• Greeting Laughter (good for starters)
• Static Electricity Laughter (energetic groups will tackle eachother with this)
• Library Laughter
• Laughter Pills (I have them do the little over the counter strength first,
then the big
perscription strength and they lob these to eachother like footballs)
• Wide Mouth Laughter
• The "I am Amazing" chant
• Crabby Laughter (where you make crabby faces and then burst into
laughter--tell them
this is how they should deal with negative people in the workplace)
• Appreciation Laughter (give eachother thumbs up but don't let them try to tell
you this is
a McCain gesture--insist that it is a nonpartisan laugh)
• The Wave with laughter
• Gradient Laughter (this can be done seated)
• "I just won a beauty contest" freakout laughter (the women go nuts for this
and so do
the men--I wear a Tiarra to get them in the mood for this one)

Lots of exerercises work with these kinds of groups. Just have FUN with it.

Anybody else got ideas? Please share. :)

Laura

Hello Laughing Friends,
Yahoo has reminded me that this groups has been rather inactive and will expire
if we don't
do some correspondence. So this inspires me to ask you what you are up to! How
is the
laughter going?

I was just at the West Coast Laughter Yoga conference in LA. It was fabulous
and very
uplifting. There is so much need for the laughter work we all do.

Ho ho ha ha ha,
Laura

Hi Laura & everyone!
I sent Laura a message that I would be leading 2 five week sessions of
LY at ECU. I'm very excited about this, but would love any tips
anyone could share with me to keep everyone excited and active for 10
weeks. The best part is that ECU is contracting me out! This week
I've gotten 4 other calls for LY sessions so it is definitely starting
to pick up! I'm very excited. Three of the gigs are out of town, but
it is starting to pick up some here in Greenville.
Thank you Laura!

Hi Laura!

I am happy you and others are staying in touch. As always, it is inspiring. I am really looking forward to your new releases! Keep in touch to let us know when and where they will be available.  Congrats on being chosen a "Laughter Ambassador."  You deserve it and you will be amazing.

I am writing for a couple of reasons.  One is that I have moved AGAIN!  Can you tell me how to change my contact info on your web site, and also Dr. Kataria's web site?  My phone and email are the same, but new address is 510 May Street, Platteville, WI 53818

Also I am finally going to start a Laughter Club here in Platteville!! My efforts have been in fits and starts, but as I believe there is a reason for everything, and that God has a plan even if I don't, I believe this is the right time and the right place. SO- Can you tell me how to get the Laughter Club posted on the web site?  It will be held:
Tuesdays 6pm
Platteville United Methodist Church
1065 Lancaster Street
Platteville, WI

Also, when you have a chance, please send me the info on the laughter gig in Bellvue on October 4th.  Thanks for thinking of me to step in for you!

Talk to you soon!
Jean

Hello Fellow Laughers,
I have heard from a producer of the ABC show "Wife Swap" that they are actively
seeking
laughter yoga practitioners to be on the show. I think it would be a hoot but
I don't
qualify because I haven't got children in the home (my snapping turtle doesn't
count). If
you do, or if you know someone who has kids and would like to be on it, let them
know
about this but do say that I referred you since there is a referral payment! :)

Here is the letter from the producer:

ABC'S WIFE SWAP SEEKS DYNAMIC *AND FUNNY* FAMILIES FOR PRIMETIME!

My name is Danielle Gervais. I'm a Casting Producer for ABC's Primetime show,
"Wife
Swap." We're currently gearing up for our fifth season and we're looking for
one-of-a-
kind families with plenty of personality to take part in the show. Specifically,
we're looking
for families who live and practice Laughter Therapy or Laughter Yoga as a way of
life,
whether it is to cope with stress or as a tool in raising their children. In
short, we're in
search of people who don't think a day is complete without a good laugh! I
apologize in
advance if you've received this email once before. Please feel free to forward
this email to
anyone you think would be interested in this unique opportunity!

In case you are unfamiliar with the show, the premise of Wife Swap is to take
two different
families and have the moms switch places to experience how another family lives.
Half of
the week, mom lives the life of the family she is staying with. After making her
observations, she introduces several "rule changes," where she implements rules
and
activities that are important to her family. It's a positive experience for
people to not only
learn but teach about other families and other ways of life. Wife Swap airs on
Disney
owned ABC television on Wednesdays at 8 pm- the family hour!

Requirements: Each family must consist of two parents and at least one child
between 6
and 17 and should reside in the continental U.S. (There may be other children
living in
the home who are older or younger than the required age…as long as one child is
in the
required age range.)

Participating in the show is a very unique experience that can be life changing
for
everyone. Families that appear on the show will receive a financial honorarium
for lost
wages, time and commitment. Anyone who refers a family that appears on our
program
receives $1000 as a 'thank you' from us.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this email and I hope to hear from you
soon. If
you have any questions, please feel free to contact me! If you're interested in
learning
more, please include your contact information.

Thank you for your time,

Danielle Gervais

Hello all you lovely laughers out there!
Here are some updates from your laughing friend, Laura. :)

LAUGHTER FIREWORKS
I hope you had a great holiday weekend. Thanks for the message, Teresa. :)
While watching fireworks with some folks from my laughter club, we employed
laughter techniques. When the display was delayed, we continued to make "ooh"
and "ahh" and "yipppeeee!" sounds. Then after each firework exploded, people
would EXPLODE with laughter and then explain what it was like with gibberish.
This wasn't even my idea! They just started doing it. My husband said, "What
have you DONE to these people?" It was very hilarious and made our celebration
much more fun.

NEXT LAUGHTER LEADER SEMINAR
In response to the need for emotional healing for those who have been affected
by floods in Iowa, I will be doing a free laughter session in August in Cedar
Rapids, followed by a 2 day laughter leader seminar. We are reaching out to
religious communities with this--in hopes that many new laughter clubs will form
in Cedar Rapids and other devastated areas. More information about this will be
posted at my website shortly.

LAUGH YOUR WAY THERE
At long last, I am coming to the end of production on my laughter CD for
commuters. It was recorded by a friend in a Lutheran church basement and then
edited and mastered professionally at a studio in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. It is
about 23 minutes of high energy laughter exercises, breathing, happy chants,
laughter affirmations and just plain zaniness. You hear my voice introducing
each exercise and then the laughers energetically doing each thing. I am so
thrilled with how it turned out. I use it while driving all the time. It makes
it easier for me to laugh because I feel like I'm part of a club even when I am
by myself. My husband and I did the cover art and design ourselves. I will post
it here in the photos. It will be market ready by the end of this month. :)

TODAY IS A LAUGHING DAY
The children's album I have been working on is still in production. We ended up
having to cancel on the day of recording last week because of a conflict with
the schedule of one of the musicians. Arghhh! Wait, I mean ha ha ha! We hope
to reschedule the recording for later this month. My best guess is that it will
be finished by end of summer. But it is worth the wait because the little
laughter songs keep getting better and I envision it to be a great resource for
laughter clubs and families.

LAUGHTER AMBASSADORSHIP
Dr. Kataria called me from India to tell me that he has chosen to bestow upon me
the great honor of being named a Laughter Ambassador. I will be officially
ambassador-ized at the All American Laughter Yoga conference in New York
September 20-21. I am very excited, as you might guess! This means I will be
attending both the East coast and the West coast Laughter Yoga conferences this
fall and so I will meet many more laughing people. Very Good! Very Good! Yay!

That is it for the major stuff. I love you all and wish you great joy! Keep
promoting world laughter. I'm counting on you.

Laughingly,
Laura

good to hear from a few people! thanks. sounds like a few people are busy with laughing activities. sorry to hear about all the flooding. It seems to be affecting many people in many places. I am sure it is hard to stay positive for many people when their homes are destroyed and things are such a mess. I know it would be hard for me. I guess we all just have to keep working to encourage one another and help each other. teresa

Hi Teresa and Laughter Leaders!
Good to hear that you are laughing. My children's
video, Laughter Friends, will be available at Amazon
again soon. The good news is that they are selling
out so fast they can't keep them in stock. Amazon
carries so many items that they only order 2 at a time
in most cases. But I prefer if you order directly
from me. I still have plenty in stock for now. You can
order with paypal at the www.laughterfriends .com site
or mail me a check at PO Box 11, Marquette, IA 52158.
You can get them at 40% off if you order 10--then you
can resell them at full retail price at laughter
events.

In other good news, Laugh Your Way There: A Laughter
Yoga Workout for Commuters is now completed. I'll be
ordering the replications this week, which means you
can order them by the end of June. This CD will be a
fun cominationf of laughter exercises, deep breathing,
happy chants and gibberish speaking. It is fun for
use in your car or just about anywhere. Shortly it
will also be available for download at iTunes. Yay!

Much Laughter to you all,
Laura
