Does anyone have any information about alternatives to chelation? I've heard about foot baths and about magnetic treatments but know nothing about their proven success or lack thereof. Once a man gave me a sales pitch about some oral drops that were supposed to remove lead, the name of which escapes me now. Just curious. I get asked.

Hi Linda
I have had success soaking my feet in Epsom salts (sodium sulphate. I notice it has leached out all some greasy ooze over the last year or two. I could post some photos of my ankles and shins if you could stomach it.
I am sure it works.

Dr Tabrizian is currently my treating doctor and he offers treatments that doesn't include IV chelation with EDTA which he is not in favour of. He has got me on Alkali T and Molybdenum as I stated in a previous post. I have attended all his lectures which are available on DVD and I have read his books. The one on Nutritional medicine I am sure you would find helpful.

http://www.nutritionreviewservice.com.au/

Google him here
http://www.google.com.au/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=h0&oq=tabrizian&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4ADBR_enAU244AU245&q=Tabrizian+nutritional+medicine+WA

I do have more links and docs if you need them.

Cheers Doug

Linda,
About six months ago I started seeing a doctor that incorporates Functional
Medicine into his practice. I am on many supplements and my health has
improved, but the lead levels have recently risen. He has me taking Metallo
Clear by Metagenics for thirty days and if there is not significant improvement
I will have to return to EDTA or DMSA. I will let you know the results.

I saw a clinical medical toxicologist and he has suggested I try a liver
detox, a lymph system detox and DSMA. Does anyone have experience with
oral DSMA. I have it ready but I haven't tried it yet.

Also have people gone to the trouble o removing amalgam fillings. I have
a mouthful and I am wondering about that. I have taken the view that I
want to clean up what is there before mobilising anything else. I have
heard it said that you shouldn't take DSMA until you have had your
fillings removed. Any thoughts on that one anyone?

Doug,

I have taken DMSA, but followed Andrew Cutler's protocol of frequent lose doses.  If you have amalgams in your mouth, I understand the DMSA can make you very sick.  Check out the website Adult Metal Chelation.  You won't agree with all their views, but there is some very good advice and information.
