Hi Susan (my name too)
Thanks so much for sharing your story. Up to this point, it's been
a loney road. I too have done much of the research through the
internet and am so thnkful it is there. The EDTA chelation HAS
effected the mercury in my system. When I started, it was at 2ug/g,
then it went to 1 ug/g, then down to .03ug/g. This is after 30
chelations. What is the address of the Adult Metal Chelatin
website? The more informed the better. You said you use the Great
Smokies Lab. Did your practitioner send you there? Is there a
doctor montering it? I go to San Diego Clinic of Preventative
Medicine, here in Southern Calif.

Until age 60 (1999) I was still employed, loved my job, swam hour
laps three times a week and also ran 2 or 3 miles a week. Then I
started having muscle weakness and pain and for the next 4 years my
health declined until I had to retire at age 64. Dozens of lab
tests, lots of different doctors, both traditional and alternative;
final diagnosis; fibromyalgia. But I kept on researching and my
understanding of fibromyalgia was it was not progressive and I was
continuing to get worse. By summer of 2006, my heart was racing and
I could barely get out of bed, plus I was having trouble breathing.
No more sports, no work, no life. In July of 2006, a provoked 24
hour urine test showed lead and mercury poisoning. None of this
ever showed up in blood tests. I began EDTA chelation in October
and have had 33. The lead levels have dropped from 49 to 8 and then
up again to 12. At some point I will have to chelate
> for the mercury, which does not respond very well to EDTA. My
practitioner isn't familiar with that, but there is excellent
information on the Adult Metal Chelation website. I use the Great
Smokies Lab. My experience has taught me that there is limited
knowledge out there by practicing doctors, etc, and you will have to
do much of the research yourself . Thank god there are these web
support groups.
