I was dropped by Kaiser under suspicious circumstances after testing high for lead. I never
took advantage of their services until I got lead poisoning. Suddenly they cancelled my policy
because, as they said, I was late on a payment for the third time in two and a half years- even
though the previous two times they never said anything and had been happy to take my
money. I explained to them that my late payments were due to a billing situation that could
be easily remedied, and they agreed to take me back -but then they renegged, claiming I had
filled out a form incorrectly.
I don't know (and can't prove) whether any of this was related to my recently aquired
health condition, but they certainly didn't seem to want my business.
Now I'm looking for a new insurance company, and I honestly don't know whether I should
mention my lead problem.
