This is a support group for parents of children with low grade gliomas of any type - juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma (JPA), pilomxyoic astrocytoma (PMA), pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA), fibrillary astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma or ganglioglioma. All locations are welcome including brainstem, cerebellar, thalamic, hypothalamic, cerebral, tectal plate and optic pathway. Those with multifocal or disseminated low grade gliomas are also welcome.

This is a place to connect with others going through similar experiences- a chance to talk about people who don't understand "benign" brain tumors, handling "watch and wait", and to discuss advocacy/research.

In addiition to using the site like a traditional listserve (getting posts sent to an email address), one can also use this similar to a bulletin board/forum by going to the mainsite to view posts from the web. It is possible to see an entire thread in this way. From the website one can also look at relevant links and files as well as reviewing the archive history.

We are pleased to be the listserve of choice for the organization FightPLGA (and its older sister Fight JPA). This non-profit organization is the only worldwide organization dedicated to fighting PLGA by accelerating the pace of PLGA research through dedicated fundraising, increasing researcher awareness and uniting the PLGA community by providing resources and information .
