Then you'd better quit taking LDN b/c the NMSS doesn't believe it does anything for MS.  Hurry up and get on one of the CRABS - they do believe in those!

what does that tell you about the neuro. Not very fair of him to claim that you'll see improvements on it.

Frankly, I'm really surprised your neuro said any time frame -- whether 8 months or anything. I doubt you'll notice any improvement, if that's what you are thinking will happen -- though some folks do see minor improvements. It's more likely he wants you to give Copaxone a good trial for 8 months or so. I suggest you just try the drug for a few weeks to see if you can handle the daily shots (be sure to ask for the free auto-injector) and see how it goes -- with or without LDN. If you hate doing the shot, then stop the Copaxone and continue with just the LDN. You're a big girl, able to make your own healthcare decisions...

Cheers, Rae

I don't think any drug claims to offer improvement. Be realistic. The goal of ANY treatment is to hopefully halt further decline...

lots of people I know drink diet soda, and are ok.
I'm not saying that aspartame is good, I dont consume it either. All I'm saying is that there are a LOT of people that consume it. aspartame is in a lot of things, look at the labels. It's in gum, mints, pop, etc, etc. Not everyone is affected the same as you or I.

Asparteme causes my youngest son to vomit violently for 24-36 hours.  When my parents have them for the weekend he comes home and w/in 8 hours starts vomiting.  I couldn't figure it out but started investigating and my dad, bless his heart, thought that because it said 'sugar free' it was better so all my son drank was that.

It is a good idea to avoid aspartame.  It can cause a myriad of health problems.
These sites that say the aspartame stories are a hoax are old.  It is currently being found that aspartame IS harmful.  I just (last week) heard on the radio that aspartame is responsible for cancer in mice.
You can believe that it's ok if you like, but anything that a company who makes carpet and drapes, (Monsanto), makes for human consumption should be suspect.
Besides, the FDA approves a lot of products, and then pulls them off the shelves when the products cause more harm than good.
Do you use aspartame?

I keep an LDN Dr list of Dr's that prescribe LDN in the US and Other Countries so if you need one please email me privately and I will email you what I have on my list in your area.

Also if anyone has a Dr that prescribes LDN and you have their permission to be added to my list then please email me their information so I can add it to my list to help others.

Also if anyone has a testimony they would like to share of their experience with LDN please email it to me so I can add it to my website and my newsletter.

'Off-Label' Drugs Denied to Medicare D

A patient advocacy group warns that Medicare patients who rely on "off-label" use of drugs to treat pain, rare diseases, and other conditions are often barred getting them through the new prescription drug program. Under the Medicare Part D program, off-label prescriptions written by doctors for their patients can be denied by insurers, says the Medicare Rights Center. Such uses were typically covered under the old Medicare payment system.

New Sign of a Stroke --

Just, Stick out Your Tongue.!!

STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters.. S.T.R.

My friend sent this to me and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks. Seriously.. Please read:
STROKE IDENTIFICATION:
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm , Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.
It only takes a minute to read this...
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE(Coherently) (I.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out their
tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other
that is also an indication of a stroke. If he or she has trouble with
ANY ONE of these tasks, call 911 immediately !! and describe the
symptoms to the dispatcher.
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

I wouldnt put too much thought into this whole 'lesion' idea. MRI's are inconclusive, you're better off basing everything off of how YOU feel. IT sounds to me like the neuro is using a little intimidation and fear to get you on one of the ABC's. He probably doesnt like the idea that you're using LDN.

Hi Solsi. I've been on Copaxone for 8 yrs now, after 2 prior yrs on Avonex then Betaseron.  I had no interferon 'headache' on Copaxone, and loved the thin sub-cutaneous needle after the painful, fat Avonex one that users shoot deep into muscular tissue. After shooting up before going to bed, I didn't have any site reactions--other than a small reaction at the shot site that was gone next day. Better tolerance of the shot itself was a trade-off that more than made up for the downside of having to shoot up every night. My neuro believes so much in the benefits of this therapy that he has most of his patients on it. Try it for a month and see if you do well on it. If you don't, tell your neuro you'd like to try something else. Anyway, let us know what you decide to do... We're here to help each other.

I have been taking LDN for a little less than a year. A month ago my
neuro found two new lesions. Does this mean that the LDN isn't
working for me? Am I progressing? I am now terrified, and will
begin on Copaxone very soon. Anyone on Copaxone that can tell me
what it's like?

Thank you,

There are a lot of untruths and hoaxes out there on the internet. I've fallen for passing on untrue stories a few times too so don't feel bad. I guess the best plan is to ALWAYS check the truth of any story that purports itself to be true, about any subject that you find circulating on the internet, before passing it on.

NUMBER 1 ANT KILLER
Interesting!
THIS SHOULD CHANGE YOUR MIND ABOUT USING ARTIFICIAL
SWEETENERS.....

IF YOU * *USE THEM???*

We live in the woods and carpenter ants are a huge problem.
We have spent thousands of dollars with Orkin & on ant poisons
trying to keep them under control but nothing has helped.
So when I read somewhere that aspartame Nutrasweet)* was
actually developed as an ant poison and changed to being
considered non-poisonous after it was realized that a lot
more money could be made on it as a sweetener than as an
ant poison, I decided to give it a try.

I opened two packets of aspartame sweetener, & dumped one
in a corner of each of our bathrooms . That was about 2 years
ago and I have not seen any carpenter ants for about 9 to 12
months. It works better than the most deadly poisons I have
tried. Any time they show up again, I simply dump another
package of Nutrasweet in a corner, and they will be gone for
a year or so again.

Since posting this information I have had many people tell me
of their success solving ant problems with this substance, when
nothing else worked. I found later that small black ants would
not eat the aspartame. It was determined that if you mixed it
with apple juice, they would quickly take it back to the nest,
and all would be dead within 24 hours, usually. I have found
that sometimes it will kill them, & sometimes it does not. Not
sure why, may be slightly different species of ants or something.

Fire Ants: We got our first fire ant hill about 2 weeks ago.
Poison did not work. We tried aspartame and the ants ignored
it until we got a light rain.

It was just a sprinkle, enough to moisten the Nutrasweet &
ground, but not enough to wash it away. They went crazy,
hundreds of them grabbing it and taking it back into the mound.
When I checked the mound 2 days later, there was no sign of
the fire ants. I even dug the mound up, and still saw none of
them.

How does it Work:
*Aspartame is a neuropoison.* It most likely kills the ants by
interfering with their nervous system. It could be direct, like
stopping their heart, or something more subtle like killing their
sense of taste so they can't figure out what is edible, or smell,
so they can't follow their trails, or mis-identify their colonies
members, so they start fighting each other. Not sure what
causes them to end up dying, just know that for many species
of ants it will kill them quickly and effectively.

As with any poison I recommend wearing gloves and washing
any skin areas that come in contact with this poison, & avoid
getting it in your mouth, despite anything the labeling may
indicate.

Cheers, Rae

Hi Crystal, hello everyone,

I have been taking LDN for a little less than a year. A month ago my
neuro found two new lesions. Does this mean that the LDN isn't
working for me? Am I progressing? I am now terrified, and will
begin on Copaxone very soon. Anyone on Copaxone that can tell me
what it's like?

Thank you,

Solsi

Hi Solsi,
No it doesn't mean that LDN isn't working because you have some lesions....I have been on LDN for 1 year and 11 months and in January 2007 I had about 10 lesions and the other day I had another MRI and all the lesions were gone. Its taken me a year and 11 months to get to this point...
How are you doing on the LDN??

Love & Blessings,
