Still need your help! Friday and Saturday from 8-6 at Lakeview and Hawthorne Pkwys in Vernon Hills. Please feel free to show up and give any time you can! Several of my volunteers have already had to cancel so PLEASE!!!!!!
Thanks to all of you who have volunteered so far! We will be staging the collection from the Portofino parking lot at the corner of Lakeview Parkway and Hawthorne Parkway at 7:30 a.m. Once there we can direct you where to go and get you set up with an apron and jug (bring your own gallon milk jug with the top cut off or similar if you can). Weather for the weekend looks very promising but dress warm and wear good shoes.
Unfortunately we are EXTREMELY SHORT of volunteers for this collection - especially on friday. I know most of us are working, but if you have some vacation time available, a long lunch, can go in late or get out early to help us we could really use your assistance. We can work around your schedule and even an hour or two is helpful!
There are 4 intersections available to us...and I don't have enough volunteers to fully staff even one. Every corner that is not fully staffed for these 2 days means thousands of dollars that will not be donated to Autism. This is not hard to do - no special skills are required. You have seen many corner collections and wondered why doesn't the Autism Society do this...well this is your chance! PLEASE join us!

The Village of Vernon Hills approved our request for a corner can collection on November 6 and 7. We can do as many as 4 corners those days. We will run the collections from 8 a.m. until approximately 6:00 p.m. (or perhaps earlier as the daylight savings ends the week before).
I need YOU to volunteer as much time as you can on these two days...please let me know the day and time you can help out! It is the easiest thing to do...anyone 16 and over can collect on the street. The locations are right near Hawthorne Center mall so traffic will be high!
The Autism Society will provide everything we need to make this successful but it cannot provide people! Friends and relatives and neighbors and coworkers are all welcome! PLEASE volunteer!
