moving to the area; what schools for Asperger's kid?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #85 of 296 |
Hi all,

We are moving to the area in the next year (trying to sell our home
in Florida first). My husband will be working in Glenview, but we've
been told to look in Grayslake, Libertyville, Mundelein and Round
Lake areas.

We have an 11 year old son (6th Grade) with Asperger's, Gen. Anxiety
Disorder, and ADD-Inattentive type. He's rather well adjusted, but
as you know, has difficulties with some stuff.

We have just started looking in Illinois, and were wondering what
schools you might recommend for our son in those cities/or areas. We
also have an 8 year old girl, with no emotional/autism issues.

Right now our son is at a Math & Science Magnet Middle School and he
loves it. If anyone knows of any magnet schools with a Science
focus, we'd love to know about it! We need to know the best options
before we buy a home.

Thanks for any and all help!
