It is a tough time for the autism community in Illinois. Program after program being cut - directly affecting our every day lives.  Please share your concerns with your legislators. Regarless of the total spending (ie tax increase or not) there is no reason that the most vulnerable individuals and families are the first to be cut and the hardest hit.

 

Chapter meeting is Thursday 7/9 at the Warren Special Rec building...please RSVP if you plan on attending...I am lining up a couple of speakers up for the fall.

 

Aspergers group is doing well...not sure on the date this month but watch our website and I will try to email the group as well.

 

ASA national conference is coming up in a few weeks in St Charles. See www.autism-society.org for info. And ASI is offering free admission in exchange for volunteering some time at their booth. Contact ASI at info@...

 

At the conference, ASA is providing free Law Enforcement training...be sure to invite your first responders...let me know and I can send you more info on that program.

 

Also ASI is having its annual Night at the Races on August 6th at Maywood Park...a great nice always! See www.autismillinois.org for details.
