Hi, This board has been quite dead since I came on so even though I
am new here too, Welcome! :)
I think we all are still struggling with truggling with
trying to keep our kids safe. My daughter is now 8 and can usually
tell if something is latex, she knows alot of things to stay away
from or tell a teacher she has been exposed. But before she was old
enough to know, I was scared every day I sent her to school, just
wondering if I would get that emergancy call from the school. It
becomes a regular routine, (not easier just common in your life)to
make sure there are no allergens in your childs classroom, and if
they get invited to a party, you need to call ahead to make sure
there are no balloons. These things will come in time to be a common
way of thinking for you. Yet you can never eleminiate latex from
every place you go....its Everywhere, so be prepared but not paranoid
try as hard as you can to let your son be a regular little boy and
let him fit in with the other kids don't draw attention to his
allergies yet make sure he knows and his friends know too. Its a
really hard road ahead but you love him and that will make it all
work. well thats alot of rambling hope some of it helps.
