Hi,
My name is Diane, a mother of 5 and a nurse. I have had a severe latex allergy for about 10 years. I felt it was starting to take control of my life and I was afraid of everything, but I refused to live like that. I took control of my surroundings and accommodated every way possible. I've done a lot of research and have learned how to live again. I work out of my home with some travel. I can tell immediately when rubber is near and avoidance is the key. The one main fear that I do have is; what if I am not mentally alert enough to protect myself?
Most people do not understand the fear and frustration that accompanies this allergy. I know I am not alone and I feel for all who have to live like we do.
