Hi... I'm so excited to find this group!! I've been allergic to rubber/latex
for 8 years... specifically on my feet... its been terrible trying to find
shoes. (I'm also allergic to a whole host of other things... specifically
mercapto mix which is the actual allergy I suffer from, apparantly it is a
chemical which is used in the manufacture of rubber and latex things).

When I was diagnosed I was one of 3 people in South Africa to have this allergy.
I see it has grown in leaps and bounds over the years... which, sadly is a good
thing, since support is always nice. Its a pity that support hadn't been more
freely available when I was first diagnosed.

I apologise for my wordy intro, like I said, I'm so relieved to see that there
is information available, and if I can be of any help to anyone who has to
endure this terrible allergy, then I shall do my best to help!!

I'm 29, female, currently living in America.... and I'm glad I found this group.
