Sorry to hear that you have been Dx with a Latex
Allergy. I was Dx 10 yrs ago. There are certain
foods that may react with the allergy. The top ones
to avoid are banannas, peaches, chestnuts, avacados.
Make sure you carry an epi-pen just in case. There
are many web sites that have information. One
suggestion is Spina Bifida. They have information on
foods to be aware of, hospital products and home
products as alternatives for non-latex. Avoid any
food service industry's that use latex gloves to
handle food. I'm not sure what state you live in but
in Mass food handlers are not supposed to be wearing
latex gloves due to the possibility of causing a
reaction to persons with latex allergy's. There are
many articles and help on the net if you type in
"Latex Allergy" .
Hope this is helpful.
