My name is Julia. I have had an anaphalaxis to latex for two years
and have had a latex allergy for five years. I am curently recovering
from anaphalaxis from a mole removal of all things. The blessing is
that the mole was not cancerous as suspected. The gloves latex and
non were stored in a sealed drawer together and got cross
contaminated. I went into anaphalaxis in the doctor's office. I spent
a week in the hospital due to breathing difficulties which has left
me (hopefully?) temperarly on O2. I hate having a latex allergy even
half the doctors I run into don't understand the severity or
legetamacy of the allergy. I have had positive latex test in the
allergist office which also caused an anaphaliaxis reaction. My life
already revolved around doctor's offices due to other medical
problems and having a latex allergy and having to frequent doctors
and hospitals makes for a dicey combination. I hope thatthe group
can understand if I am unable to post in a timely manner, if I don't
it is because I am in the hospital. Good Luckk to all of us for a
