bad relapse with the latex allergy. I am currently at the end of
treatment for anaphalaxis from a mole removal. The latex-free gloves
were stored with latex gloves and became cross-contaminated. I am
currently on O2 and it sucks but it beats being in the hospital.
Latex allergy for me has been bad but I have found that people around
me forget what can't be near me so I left a list on the frig. I left
a note on the mailbox to prevent rubber bands. I try my best at
prevention, then make sure I have my anaphalaxis kit with me always.
And make sure that there is someone, yes even the kids old enough to
call 911 to know to call get my epipen and be sure to avoid Latex
when the rescue unit comes. My mother does a football block that
would make the NFL proud.
Kate, make sure you take the time to recover. I have made the mistake
to push though recovery process only to relapse because I have failed
to heed my body's need to rest. I know it is hard when you have young
children but reach out and ask for help from your family if you can,
neighbors or community resources. If you need a shoulder let us know
we have all been in a place of Why me? Why now? Why can't I prevent
my allergy?
