Hello List,
Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Barbara and my 16 month old son
Carter has LA secondary to Spina Bifida. He has only had three surgeries but
began having breathing difficulties while playing with my older sons rubber
snakes. He has been on precautions since birth but I just didn't catch the
snakes, and probably a few other toys around the house. We now carry Benedryl
and a jr. epi with us at all times. He has had several respiratory reactions,
mostly to toys at other kids homes and therapist offices. I have been
"lurking" for about a week now and have noticed that most of you seem to be
adults dealing with LA. I am on several Spina Bifida lists but latex
information is not discussed as frequently as I need. I hope that I am in the
right place. Since Carter cannot tell me how this feels, I only have the
obvious signs to go by. It has been interesting hearing your perspectives. I
am likely to have a lot of questions about common things we/he come into
contact with. I hope that I will be welcome here.
