Your problem sounds all too familiar. 11 yrs ago I was you until
finally one night I went into anaphylaxis. 3 am they were calling a
code for me. I realize, it is along time ago you posted your
message. I just joined this group so this is the first time I am
reading it. For me, I test negative with lab work, I was initially
negative with skin testing too. However, the next day in the areas
where I had had skin prick testing done, I was reacting. They then
tested me by scratching the skin and taping a glove over it and
again, I reacted. Even now, all these years later and many reactions
and daily living problems all from latex, lab tests are still
negative. My advice to you is keep searching for a good allergist.
preferably one with experience in research and treating latex
allergy. If you run into a doc, that doesn't believe in latex
allergy or minimizes it, run the other way... they'll only do you
harm. From what I have been told, delayed reactions and those that
test negative to lab tests are not IgE mediatied, but initially IgG.
They are not typical, but they are not as unusual as some would have
you think. I think it was the American Academy of Allergy,
Immunology and Asthma that listed physicians and their specialties.
There are some that are certified in latex allergy. Good Luck -from,
