New to group

Hello ya'll, I'm Jean from Louisiana
This is the best group on L/A I've seen.
I am a retired, disabled LPN since 2001.  I was working in a nursing home and the DON tried to to provide me with a latex free environment but even the door 'seals' (to prevent smoke entering the rooms) were made with latex.  I was able to get my disability ( I also have other medical problems) about a year and my church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Letter-day Saints) help me survive when I was without income.  I had been a nurse for 24 years.
I have been passing out frequently and the doc hasn't been able to find out why.  I have seen a cardiac specialist, but he won't to the heart cath because their cath room has a lot of latex in it.  I had gone to have the procedure done at a hospital in New Orleans but just being close to him cause me to have a reaction and sent me to ER. The nurses for the outpatient unit didn't know how to help me. Luckily, I had my latex free kit with me and my daughter knew what to do.
I will be seeing a neurologist, an ENT and a different cardiologist.
I am grateful because my family, friends, church family and even most of the EMT's in this area know me and the allergy. Two years ago I went to our parish fair and was touched by a balloon and had an anaphylactic reaction. The EMT's, and police were great.  They got me out quickly knew what to do.
The local hospital I go to ( too often) is latex safe. They do not use latex gloves or have any lying around.  I have been in and out so much they know my needs.  Even the housekeeping dept. doesn't use latex gloves or aerosol cleaners.
I am also allergic to a lot of chemicals, environmental agents, foods, medicines & metal so I can't  wear a medical alert bracelet. Any ideas?
I take 50 mg. of Benadry 4 times a day, Visteril 25 mg. 4 times a day, Singular at bedtime, and when needed Epi, inhalers, and nebulizer for the allergies.
Thanks for the info on LACRA, etc.  Jean
