You are not alone. I had a bad reaction March 12 2003 in our recert
class for CPR. Ended up in the ER (where I worked) iv, solumedrol,
benadryl iv, pepcid and updrafts. Since it happened on the "job" it
was WC. Well it is almost a year later I still can't work, have 3
MD's all saying Latex allergy but the WC Md says no so I am trying to
take former employer to court.
Rast was "basically neg", no ige, patch test sent me to hospital for 3
days within 4 hours of being applied, chest pain, SOB, wheezing,
itching and redness. According to their md not an allergic reaction
to patches. According to ER md and regular md I had violent reaction
and it was allergic reaction.
I live day to day using benadryl to help me maintain a basic
lifestyle. I have had to get rid of and replace some things in my
home. No bras, special panties, etc. Lucky for me no anaphylsis yet.
Knock on wood.
We have to keep on plugging.
