I don't work for any pump co. and don't benefit in any way from my
suggestions, so here goes...
Request your doctor's office to acquire a loaner model of each of the
company's pumps and literally hold them in your hands. It becomes patently
obvious
at that point which machine is literally crafted the best. Disetronic pumps
have heft (vs. being heavy) and do not have doors that open and other exterior
moving parts that can cause the errors you receive from Animas.
The engineering is heads above on the Disetronic for stability and precision.
I've been pumping for over 8 years and have had only one problem -- a
hairline crack allowed water in when swimming in the ocean in Mexico! An
emergency?
Nope. Disetronic is the only pump maker with 2 pump system -- you ALWAYS
have a back up pump to use. Never without pump coverage.
Minimed has the lion's share of the market in US, but Disetronic does in
Europe and worldwide. All I can say is that the Disetronic is more "solid" in
every way. Just pick it up and you can tell -- but that solidity continues in
every day use and company support.
I started on the H-Tron. Now on D-Tron (which may not have 2 pump system
offer, but complain up and you'll get it).
