RE: [JewishIP] Insulin reservoirs

40 times 3 would mean I should put in 120 units plus 5.0 to cover the prime
when I change the site plus a few extra units when I manually prime during
the site change. However, instead of starting with 130 or 140 units, I
start with 160 units. By the time I finish priming, my new reservoir has
134 units to last me 3 days

My son uses the Animas Pump that loses 25 units when priming. I guess my
question really should be: should one add more insulin to cover possible
occlusion errors?

I personally do not think it is necessary to add insulin to cover possible occlusion errors. However, I am not a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) which would...
